Bio
It all started as a child, both mom and dad were art directors for major ad agencies. I grew up around advertising, running the halls of Grey and Y&R. Selling my crappie drawings to anyone who would buy them. Those places had the best art supplies for a little kid.
As I entered Suny Purchase for a degree in graphic design, I knew that school was not for me. So I dropped out, landed a job at Tape House Editorial. Originally I thought I wanted to go into sound design. But about 2 months into the job I found color correction. I was hooked. I spent the next 7 months soaking in any information I could about this post industry. Dubbing, labels, tape stock, starring at the wall. I did it all. Then I got laid off. Tape house had some cut backs and I was on the list.
Best thing that ever happened to me.
About 2 months later I started in a small company called Nice Shoes. When I say small I mean it. When I started it was 12 people in two rooms, within 3 months we moved into its current location. I was doing everything from shipping to running wires to hooking up color correct rooms and edit rooms. After that I was tossed into sessions with Scott Burch and Chris Ryan. I was an assistant during some of the busiest times in our industries history. It was a great learning experience and I will cherish it forever.
In 1998 I got my first supervised job. It was a PSA for the environment, I was so nervous and excited. From that point I never looked back, I worked at Nice Shoes as a night and day colorist until 2005. I cannot believe the opportunities that fell into my lap there; I was working with the best of the best clients in New York. In 2005 I left Nice Shoes to pursue my career at Moving Images as a full time day colorist, where I work now with some of the most talented people in the industry today. Thank you all.
